Foo Fest III Official Lineup

FRIENDS OF P
P is just your average guy who doesn't have much luck with the chicks. However, tonight, he's finally got a date! Just when you think things are going his way, you have to wonder: can a guy have too many friends? In this comedy directed by Jason Santo, Jared Hargrave - from Colorado's Rusty Hoot amateur film group - stars as the man plagued by too many friends, played by the many members of Random Foo Pictures and Pangaea Films. Will P be able to have the dream date he's been waiting for, or will his friends love him too much?

SHORTCUT
Shot on location at Bentley College back in 1995, this comedy stars Dan Gorgone as a guy totally infatuated with a classmate. He's ready to do anything to meet her, including run around the campus just to "run into" her at different places. He never counted on having obstacles in his way, though! From strange people with video cameras to old friends, this poor guy has to run from one end of the campus to the other to achieve his goal. Bentley students young and old will especially notice how things have changed over the years, but the things some guys do for love certainly has not.

SYKES TANGENT ADN THE ANGEL OF DEATH
This action-thriller stars Jason Santo as Lt. Sykes Tangent, hot on the trail of a crazed killer.. Soon after a run-in with a mysterious otherworldly figure, Sykes discovers that his brush with the "other side" may have had a lasting affect on him. With his reluctant partner Jaxon Stone (Dan Gorgone), Sykes must figure out where this killer will strike next to try and uncover the truth behind the case and his brush with death.

WORDBOX
Ned O'Donnell, Roman Berman, and J. Santo star in this thriller about a mysterious box which can reveal one's destiny. One man tries to understand the reading from the box and define its meaning while another man demands proof that it tells the truth. Does the box show the truth, or what the person wants to see? This 16mm film project was shot back in 1996 and written and directed by Jason Santo.

VOICE OF REASON
Rob Molea stars in the drama about a man trying to come to grips with the marriage he wants to keep and the adultery he is committing. As he comes home early one morning, he begins to consider the actions he has taken and his "voices" try to convince him what to do next. Can he come to the right decision before it's too late? Written and directed by Dan Gorgone, Voice of Reason also stars April Santo and Sarah Holmes.

HOW TO MAKE THE ONE YOU LOVE RUN
This comedy stars C.C. Chapman as a groom-to-be wallowing in the aftermath of a riotous bachelor party. His fiancé's prized possession is suddenly missing and he's got little time to put things right. Can his buddies help him unravel the mystery of what took place during the party and find what's missing before his better half gets home? Co-starring Frank Parker, Joe Vaccariello, and Tiffany Ells.

It looks like Andreas Schnaas has been highly active recently. The following news is taken directly from his official website.

- Andreas Schnaas has gathered great actors for the project, which include American Joe Zaso, who was last seen in "Rage of the Werewolf". Also appearing in "Demonium" are Italy's new cinema-star, Andrea Bruschi, who is celebrating great success with a new comedy in Italy, and Claudia Abbate.

- The legendary Sergio Stivaletti takes on the supervision and manufacturing of the Digital Special Effects with his company, Apocalypse.

- Fanta X from Rome takes on the Special Make-Up Effects.

- Clemens Bley from Hamburg, Germany, takes on the job of "Demonium"'s director of photography.

- "Demonium" will celebrate its premiere, according to all foresight, at Cannes during its prestigious film festival. The movie will also tour through miscellaneous festivals in Europe, Asia, and North America. An early 2002 video and DVD release will follow after the feature is no longer in cinemas.

- Don't forget - The principal photography of Timo Rose's film "Mutation: Generation Dead" has begun! In a cameo role as a ill-tempered American is "Demonium" co-author Ted Geoghegan. He had a lot fun at the set. Andreas Schnaas will also act in the film, reprising his role from the original movie.

Sub Rosa Studios has pulled in a major score, Orson Wells' DON QUIXOTE. Here's the official press release alonge with news on a slew of new Sub Rosa titles.

--Syracuse-Based Producer/Distributor Working with One Shot Productions To Bring Reconstruction of Welles' Unfinished Masterpiece To US Theatrical and Home Entertainment Channels--

SYRACUSE, NY, February 06, 2001 -- Sub Rosa Studios, a leading home video distributor of contemporary independent and international features, has been named the sales representative for the U.S. theatrical and home entertainment release "Don Quixote de Orson Welles," Orson Welles' unfinished film version of Cervantes' classic.

Orson Welles filmed his "Don Quixote" in a stop-and-start manner in Mexico and Spain from 1957 to 1971. While principal photography was completed, the soundtrack (which Welles planned to dub all of the voices himself) was never finished and much of the footage was presumed to be lost. Filmmaker Jess Franco, who served as second unit director of Welles' "Chimes at Midnight," tracked down nearly all of the missing footage and completed the soundtrack. The resulting "Don Quixote de Orson Welles" was briefly shown at several non-theatrical venues in 1992 before being withdrawn due to various legal and financial issues which have only recently been settled.

Sub Rosa Studios is best known as the producer of the annual B-Movie Film Festival and as the curator for the online pantheon the B-Movie Hall of Fame, as well as for the popular e-commerce video site B-Movie Theater (www.b-movie.com) and for its own line of titles ranging from cheerful exploitation flicks as "Flesh Freaks" and "The Mutiliation Man" to critically-acclaimed, award-winning features including the 1998 Macedonian Oscar contender "Goodbye 20th Century!" to popular cult films such as the infamous "Zombie! Vs. Mardi Gras."

"We are truly honored that Kevin Collins of One Shot Productions (via his partners in Spain) has chosen us to bring this important and long-missing piece of Welles' cinema," says Ron Bonk, founder and president of Sub Rosa Studios. "We are currently in negotiations with several major distributors regarding this project and we are determined to see this production receives the widest possible US release."

1/23/01:

Sub Rosa Studios Presents a Thriller Troika With Dogs in Quicksand, The Murder Men And Psycho Scarecrow

SYRACUSE, NY, January 23rd, 2001 -- Sub Rosa Studios, a leading home video distributor of contemporary independent and international features, announces the release of three new titles offering a wealth of thrills and chills in the style of the classic B-Movies. All three films are available now at suggested retail price of $39.95 each; or you can buy them in a 3-pack for just $74.99 and get a fourth movie free (your choice among the three).

Dogs in Quicksand (2000) is directed by Mike Trippiedi. A multipe award-nominee at the B-Movie Film Festival, Dogs in Quicksand offers a quirky, off-beat tale of sex and betrayal in a rural community and the comic chain of events that occur after one of the town's residents is found murdered. Mixing black humor and wild comedy, the film offers a wonderfully unique thriller with non-stop surprises from beginning to end. Running time: approx. 90 minutes. Not rated. Contains sex, violence and harsh language.

The Murder Men (2000) is from up-and-coming filmmaker King Jeff and recalls the glory days of both the 1940s film noir genre and the 1970s blaxploitation genre. In this drama, the bodies of three inner city gang members are found in a remote wooded area and a six-man multi-racial homicide team is assigned to piece together the story that culminated in this execution. Stylishly filmed in black-and-white with an ingenious wrap-around story filmed in color, The Murder Men is a smooth, riveting piece of hard-boiled entertainment. Running time: 72 minutes. Not rated. Contains violence and harsh language.

Psycho Scarecrow (2000) is Steve Galler's gripping horror tale of a prank gone awry to the wildest possible lengths. Police detectives find a tape recording of a suicide victim who relates the circumstances leading up to her demise: a benign trip with four friends turns fatal when one of the quartet is found dead. The body is taken to a cornfield and stashed in an old scarecrow. But unlike the fabled scarecrow along the Yellow Brick Road, this cornfield denizen comes to life with something deadlier than a song-and-dance wish for a brain. Running time: approx. 90 minutes. Contains violence and a nasty scarecrow.

Steve Bentley says his company, Dark Talisman Productionss "will be premiering scenes from THE ADVENTURES OF DYNA-WOMAN at VisionCon in Springfield, MO on the weekend of Feb 16. People can have their pictures taken with Jacey Sinclair (Dyna-Woman, herself). We will shoot the actual feature in April (all of the contracts are signed and the script has been given a greenlight, so I am just putting the finishing touches on our tapes for sale and getting the T-shirts made up). Matt Jenkins, the award winning documentary director (ATOMIC ANNIE, THE WICHITAS, and a couple of others that I am too tired to remember), has started shooting footage for his new documentary B AND BELOW about no-budget movie-makers around the country. This documentary includes Pat Bishow (THE GIRLS FROM H.A.R.M. and THE ADVENTURES OF EL FRENETICO AND GO-GIRL), myself and Richard Catt (BLACKWOOD EVIL). It will air on PBS stations around the country as well as at film/video festivals in late 2001 and early 2002.

---------------------

The following news was pulled from Jon Keeyes Scream Queens and Movie Beauties site. All the footage for the three ALIEN CONSPIRACY movies: EVIL ORIGIN, TIME ENOUGH, BEYOND THE LOST WORLD has been shot and is in post-production. Look for a Fall 2001 release for the trilogy, which concerns the end battle between two alien species and mankind caught in the middle. Digital effects are being handled by Jeff Forsyth, who directed the well-received CHILDREN OF THE SKY (also being distributed by Brimstone).

A third werewolf anthology, consisting of work by Ron Ford, Alex Michaud (URBAN FLESH) and Kevin Lindenmuth will be shot in March/April 2001.

From Roxanne Michaels:
"Happy New Year! This year is already starting for a busy start. Last month, I had some last minute modeling jobs. I modeled for fantasy artist Alex Horley for two projects: one, for a Universal Studios limited edition Dracula poster, and the other for a cover a fantasy novel about women warriors. Other models, include Stacy E. Walker Stacy E. Walker - Queen of Illustrated Romance, and Countess Vladimira Countess Vladimira Homepage.( Who else?)

Also, I spent three days in PA modeling for Mike James of Azimuth Designs. He is famous for his female resin kits. I was modeling for his photographic art pin-up projects. Check out some of his work, Azimuth Design.

Upcoming two movie projects: one with Eric Thornett (23 Hours) and the other with Jackie Ruffner of Warrior Entertainment. Both are action movies which I have been hired specifically to do fight scenes and stunts. Yeah!!!! Also, for February ( Other than my B-day...Feb.9th), I will be modeling for new pin-up artist Age and Chiller magazine cover artist, Jeff Pittarelli.

From Jon Keeyes at Highland Myst Productions:
Jan. 25, 2001 - We're nearing the end of getting the movie completed. Spent time in the sound studio last week listening to the musical score and getting a feel for its placement in the movie. It's incredible! Combining piano, cello, violins and guitar, the score is adding another incredible and eerie layer to the movie. The sound editors are getting the foley laid into the movie and everything looks to be on track. We also acquired the rights to a clip from Fred Olen Ray's "Haunting Fear" to use in a portion of the movie. Brinke Stevens and Michael Berryman will be playing in the background (I wonder how many people will realize it is her after she has showed up in the movie earlier). I love these fun little details when they show up in a movie. Be sure to pay attention to the coffee table at the cafe. One of the magazines has a picture of Debbie Rochon (Jane Toppan) on the cover from her role in Troma's Citizen Toxie. Of course, there's other little things like this scattered through the movie as well.

J.R. Bookwalter is hard at work producing films for Charles Bands' Full Moon Pictures. A few weeks ago I announced that J.R. and Full Moon will be releasing William Shatner's next directorial project titled GROOM LAKE. The following is taken from the official GROOM LAKE website. While it doesn't offer plot details on alien abduction film, it does offer an interesting possibility. The film stars Shatner, Tom Towles, Dick Van Patten, and Dan Gauthier.

"The U.S. government's "secret" Area 51 base is located near Groom Dry Lake in Nevada. The government usually denies its existence.

"The facility was completed by late 1955. The U-2 spy plane was tested here. Other craft tested here over the years include the B-2 stealth bomber, the F-117 stealth fighter and the SR-71 Blackbird, among others.

"The Groom Lake Facility has gone by many names over the years. Its names have included "Paradise Ranch," "The Ranch" and "Watertown Strip." The Atomic Energy Commission gave it the name "Area 51" in 1958. The restricted air space above Groom Lake has been called "Dreamland" since the late '70s.

"The Groom Dry Lake bed has proved particularly useful for takeoffs and landings of aircraft that require a long runway. The main runway has been extended several times. It currently has a length of 27,000 feet..

"An individual named Bob Lazar, in 1989, claimed he used to work at Groom Lake/Area 51 "reverse engineering" alien spaceships. Although it created a flurry of interest at the time, Lazar ultimately offered no convincing proof to back up his extraordinary claims.

TEMPE ROAD SHOW HITS FRIGHTVISION 2001: Last year's Frightvision show in Akron, Ohio offered up a DEAD NEXT DOOR reunion. In 2001 the show is bigger and better, having moved to Cleveland and Friday night will again be the domain of Tempe!

By special arrangement with promoter Carl Thompson, the Tempe gang will appear the evening of Friday, April 6th with a Tempe-Fest that includes a preview look at our current projects (including a first look at William Shatner's GROOM LAKE!), a Q&A panel and a screening of several recent projects such as WITCHOUSE 2: BLOOD COVEN, HORRORVISION and THE VAULT.

Scheduled to appear:

J.R. BOOKWALTER - Director (WITCHOUSE 2: BLOOD COVEN, THE DEAD NEXT DOOR)
ARIAUNA ALBRIGHT - Actress (HORRORVISION, WITCHOUSE 2: BLOOD COVEN)
DANNY DRAVEN - Director (HORRORVISION)
DAVID LANGE - Artist (Sybil War comic book)
DOUGLAS SNAUFFER - Writer (THE VAULT, WITCHOUSE 2: BLOOD COVEN)
DAVID BARTON - Makeup FX artist (HORRORVISION, WITCHOUSE 2: BLOOD COVEN)

"STITCHES" PREPS FOR RELEASE: Following on the heels of our latest release, HORRORVISION, is the creepy thriller STITCHES. Shot in September, 2000, STITCHES marks the directorial debut of screenwriter Neal Marshall Stevens (13 GHOSTS remake), who was guided through the process by line producer Ariauna Albright and producers Chuck Williams and J.R. Bookwalter. STITCHES makes its home video debut on VHS February 27th, 2001 and you can pre-order a copy beginning February 1st. For more information — including the official trailer and other downloads — visit the official website!

"THE VAULT" OPENS FOR ACTOR-TURNED-DIRECTOR: Tempe fans have long remembered actor James Black. Black left Ohio for L.A. in 1993 and hasn't looked back since, first on the syndicated TV series THE BURNING ZONE and later on the big screen with roles in OUT OF SIGHT, SOLDIER, GODZILLA and UNIVERSAL SOLIDER: THE RETURN. But Black has not forgotten his salad days with Tempe—in fact, he returned to the fold last August to play the role of Bradbury in HORRORVISION at Bookwalter's request (a role that he and screenwriter Scott Phillips wrote with the actor in mind). And now, James Black has added the role of director to his resumé—and Tempe is there again!

After the successful production of HORRORVISION and STITCHES, Full Moon turned to Tempe for its next Big City Pictures release, THE VAULT. First, producers J.R. Bookwalter and Chuck Williams enlisted WITCHOUSE 2: BLOOD COVEN scribe Douglas Snauffer to rewrite the existing screenplay with input from executive producer Mel Johnson Jr. (TOTAL RECALL). Then, Bookwalter took James Black up on his request to direct. Johnson and Full Moon producer Charles Band were thrilled with the choice, having already worked with Black as an actor in RAGDOLL (where he assumed the name "Tarnell Poindexter" for his standout role of Little Mikey).

THE VAULT production took place in an abandoned school near the University district of Tucson, Arizona (an old stomping ground for co-producer Williams, and the site of the followup production, William Shatner's GROOM LAKE). The results will debut on VHS and Lunar Edition DVD in March, 2001 and is already catching buzz as the best Big City release to date! Check it out for yourself at the official website, now online!

Somehow I missed the release of two new films from soft-core king Lou Vockell. Lou recently released CYBERVAMPZ 2001: A NUDE ODYSSEY and HOT VAMPZ.

In CYBERVAMPZ 2001: A NUDE ODYSSEY, the three most famous babes on the internet share their most intimate fantasies and nude private moments. Stars internet diva Danni Ashe of DANNI'S HARD DRIVE, along with scream queen/centerfold Lorissa McComas (KILLER SEX QUEENS FROM CYBERSPACE) and Glori-Anne Gilbert (DREAM WITCH).

HOT VAMPZ stars Brittany Andrews, Lovette and Kelly Jaye. Before they were the world's hottest porn stars, these three ladies were just fresh faced amateurs. See what they had to do to get their foot (and everything else) in the door of the adult movie industry. These babes are on the casting couch, and you've got the camera! Hosted by Glori-Anne Gilbert!

Also, for certain legal reasons, Lou has ceased distribution on DREAMWITCH with Glori-Anne Gilbert. Head to his site and find out which bootlegging bastard brought this about and why.

The following news regarding Sub Rosa Studios comes cortousy of thier recent newsletter. .

Gut Pile secured a new musician - Steve Sessions, the director of Cremains! Matt Walsh had his computer crash, and anticipating a long wait on the repair time, had to back out of the gig. Steve got a copy of the movie this week and could have the music done in as soon as mid-February. Meanwhile, a behind-the-scenes featurette on Gut Pile is planned.

"Stumped" editing has been pushed back - we hope to resume work on it in Mid-February once Gut Pile is finally wrapped.

Sub Rosa Midwest is hard at work on its second production (following Strangled Starlets). The production is being kept under-wraps for now, but look for an announcement in mid to late February and the movie for sale at b-movie.com sometime in March.

Sub Rosa home base is also gearing up for a new production. Ron has worked out a new script and is now working on 2nd and 3rd drafts of it, adding all the "little" details and subplots. Sub Rosa may be relocating to a new facility as early as summer 2001 (we're weighing the options between going remote with a country location, or buying a building smack dab in the middle of Syracuse). The move, besides affecting the production schedule, could change significant plot details in the movie as well. "The story is such that it can be played out in either a rural or city location," Ron explains. "It would change certain details quite a bit, but the basic story would remain unaffected. I'm not totally sold on one area or the other anyway - there are certain advantages and neat plot twists to each. So I guess it matters where we find the ideal location for the business first!"

From Joe Sherlock: "F&C Productions news: A couple of weeks back I shot a segment for one of Brimstone Productions' upcoming werewolf anthology tapes. Check out the production diary and cool pictures at: < http://www.proaxis.com/~sherlockfam/bnews.html>"

Hey ol' Bill Shatner (Capt. Kirk to you) is going to host some sort of TV series called "William Shatner's Full Moon Frightshow" that mines the library of cheesy Full Moon movies. Hey - don't get me wrong I love some of those Full Mooners, but others, well...anyhow, I guess Bill and FM head honcho

Charlie Band will be pitching the show to TV stations at the upcoming National Association of Television Program Executives convention in Las Vegas. The Capt. just finished directing a feature called Groom Lake for Full Moon. (Courtesy of Joe Sherlock)

Ron Ford reports that Deadly Scavengers is basically done. Ron says, "We have a premiere in Fresno on January 6th, then it's up to Vista Street when it gets out there. Anxious to see my Alien Conspiracy piece and also dying to see how SONG OF THE VAMPIRE comes out. I only wrote it and played a small part, but it looks like it could be kinda special. It was the directorial debut of Denice "Subspecies" Duff, who also stars. Denice is a good director, we had a lot of fun." (Courtesy of Joe Sherlock)

Genovesio Films recently reported that Stephanie had been cast as a "Boobalonian Inhabitant" for their movie, "Bikini Planet." www.bikiniplanet.homestead.com

Nazim Hassan Rizvi, an Indian Producer working in "Bollywood", was arrested on December 13 on suspicion that underworld money had been used to finance his latest film, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke (''Stealing, Stealing, Quietly, Quietly''.) A police statement said he had been arrested under provisions of the penal code relating to murder and extortion. Police said they also were detaining him under various sections of the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act of 1999 on suspicion of using underworld funding. Rizvi's lawyer, Satish Maneshinde denied the allegations and added, ``There is no underworld money in this film. There was a financier for the film and we will show the accounts''

RENAISSANCE entertainment productions Renaissance Entertainment Productions is currently in development of our first feature length project. The film, "THE DAMNED" is writer/director Tom Maddens directorial debut. The story, a surreal mix of Polanski's, "REPULSION" and Stoker's, "DRACULA" is a horrifying depiction of a woman who believes she is becoming a vampire and her nightmarish descent into madness. This terrifying character driven thriller has received solid coverage and reviews from several top agencies and procos' including MIRAMAX FILMS. Renaissance is currently soliciting funds for the project and hopes to begin production next summer.

GLADIATOR EROTICUS is the most ambitious Seduction Cinema project to date. Currently in post-production, GLADIATOR EROTICUS, an erotic spoof of the blockbuster Gladiator, stars Darian Caine in her most demanding role, that of Eroticus, a Roman general who fights in the lesbian gladiator games in order to free her people from the tyranny of Emperor Dickus Minimus (John P. Fedele). Starring a veritable who's who of Seduction Cinema talent, including Misty Mundae, Jade DuBoir, Heidi Christine, Lily Tiger and Debbie Rochon, Gladiator Eroticus is scheduled for an official release of March 6. Pre-orders will be taken on the website by the year's end.

More news, "My name is Augie, I am an independent filmmaker. My main focus is low budget genre films. Currently I am in pre-production for an ultra-violent post apocalypse spaghetti western. I have placed a few short films based on the main character on my website; www.slowlearnerproductions.com. Please view them. Also, I have placed episode 2 on www.Anteye.com and it has been the number one film for the past six weeks, so I think I am doing something right. At the moment I am seeking funding and a distributor. I estimate the budget to be around or under $1000. I think this amount would be easily made back, especially since the Anteye posting has displayed that there is a fan base for this character as well as the style of filmmaking."

"Rock N' Roll Frankenstein" leads the juggernaut ending the USA embargo against Yugoslavia. That's right, on February 8th R&R F screens at the Belgrade International Film Festival - assuming the print makes it past customs in Hungary. Maybe they'll consider putting the Iron Curtain back up after they get a gander of The Monster. On the domestic front - in the February issue of Total Movie Magazine a few minutes of clips along with the music video & trailer from R&R Frankie are featured in the DVD which comes with the mag. Go to www.totalmoviemag.com and sign up to get a free trial issue (the newsstand price is $7.99!)
