My apologies for not updating this news page in almost 10 days. The usual hang-ups hit me, new job, new house, new girl, new 700 foot fence that had to be built for my new dog. Ugh, it's like I'm starting life fresh again...

I won't promise it won't happen again. Heck, I could get lazy next week. But I'll do my best to keep on top of things for you regulars.

take care,

Just a quick note from Sub Rosa Studios - we started our Red Files TV Show/Anthology this past weekend. The first story, called "Pritchard's Landing", stars Danni Gottuso, Dave Bender, and Jerry O'Sullivan, with special effects by John Pinkerton. The shoot went very well on this short story and the editing is nearly complete. It should start playing on Syracuse TV around the first week of August (Wednesday, 10pm). More episodes will follow soon after, including "1717 Evergreen Place", which shoots this coming weekend.

Editing on "The World vs. Sonny and Gino" will resume shortly after we wrap this first two stories. More "Red Files" episodes will role in late August/early September.

With MalleuS webmaster Shane Semler labouring away on his music projects, thus putting a website update to the back-burner, MalleuS Independent Motion Pictures have decided to mail you this one-off news sheet to keep you abreast of developments from The Macabre Minds of Malleus.

HOTDOG: As many of you are aware, MalleuS director Ruth Elizabeth submitted her short movie UNCANNY EGYPT to HOTDOG MAGAZINE’s “Rizla Roll Your Own Competition” for the month of June. Despite taking an overwhelming lead in the on-line voting (average score 7.5 out of 10 – well ahead of the four other entries) the final descision went to the Rizla/Hotdog judges, who declaired a “sub-Jeremy Beadle, point and shoot, done-to-death gag” entitled LAWMOWER as the winner of the £1000 first prize (which scored just 2 out of 10 online!)

Clearly the on-line voting is a farce. UNCANNY EGYPT was the only entry to be shot on location, rather than in someone’s back garden. It was the only entry to feature a custom-written score (or indeed ANY sort of score). It was the only entry for which costumes had to be created. It was the only entry to feature labouriously created special effects.

But in the final analysis, and although thousands of HOTDOG READERS thought UNCANNY EGYPT was by far the best entry…HOTDOG didn’t! Ruth’s efforts counted for nothing. We’re all very bitter and disappointed. Certainly won’t be wasting our time or effort entering again. We’re not bad looser, we just like to loose in a fair fight.

Thank you to everybody who voted – I know some of you were shephearding friends without internet access to Tesco Worcester cyber cafe to view and vote! It was appreciated. Sorry it was for naught.

UNCANNY EGYPT can be downloaded from MalleuS in Div-X format.

CHANNEL 4: On a brighter note, British TV Station CHANNEL 4 found MalleuS via google.com, and were impressed. CH4’s TAKE OVER TV company have approached MalleS with a view to purchasing some short features to air (probably on the ADAM AND JOE SHOW). Our output isn’t quite up to the usual wacky, madcap antics of that duo – but despite this CH 4 are currently awaiting a re-edit and remastered UNCANNY EGYPT to consider for transmission. If they want something sillier and less subtle we have plenty else we can submit. We’ll keep you updated as things progess.

GATRI 2: Episode two of THE CHRONICLES OF GATRI is still in production. Director Ruth Elizabeth has restructured Tim Ricketts, & Andrew Morris’ script to accommodate a lengthy historical exposition prologue. This footage was shot last week, featuring Morris-Henshaw as a Cathar Knight, on location in South Wales – particular at Caerphilly Castle. Extensive blue-screen footage has also been shot for the prologue.

With about half the feature yet to shoot (the easy half!) you can expect to grab the finished feature FREE form MalleuS around Halloween.

SHOP? MalleuS are considering opening an online store at their website. This follows numerous requests for MalleuS Tee Shirts featuring Shane Semler’s M logo from the splash page, and copies of LOOKING FOR GATRI on CD ROM. Also under consideration is the creation of an UNCANNY EGYPT action figure – manufactured in the style of the classic 1970’s MEGO dolls. If production of the MUMMY doll goes ahead it will be created in strictly limited numbers and packaged in a typical 70’s gaudy blister pack. We’ll tell you more when you figure this whole e-commerce thing out!

MalleuS Aforethought is the title of a fansite created by Josie M. Kogge which details the creating of LOOKING FOR GATRI. MalleuS input on the site was minimal, and all the thoughts and opinions are Josie’s own. Surf into MalleuS Aforethought and check out Josie’s exhaustive text and her video downloads – some of which are exclusive to her site.

JULY 14, 2001

The following comes from the most recent Tempe Video Newsletter.

In October, 1999 Full Moon Pictures released WITCHOUSE on the heels of the wildly successful BLAIR WITCH PROJECT. Starring Tempe favorite Ariauna Albright (BLOODLETTING) as a witch named Lilith, the Jack Reed-directed chiller set video rental charts ablaze. But no one certainly expected it to follow in the steps of successful series such as PUPPET MASTER, SUBSPECIES and TRANCERS...

Flash-forward to early 2000. Full Moon founder Charles Band commissions our own J.R. Bookwalter to helm a Romania-lensed sequel entitled WITCHOUSE 2: BLOOD COVEN. Although a sequel in name only, the film (starring Andrew Prine and Albright, who does a dual turn here) was a darling of the critics and the sales again proved that lightning can strike twice.

But now, apparently the phrase "third time's a charm" is true.

J.R. Bookwalter returns for a second sequel to Full Moon's hot new franchise, this time christened WITCHOUSE 3: DEMON FIRE. Shot in only 9 days (the same schedule as the previous two) in and around Los Angeles, the new entry in the series has many claiming it's "the best Bookwalter ever."

Breaking from tradition, the new entry finds the shoes of Lilith filled by none other than Brinke Stevens (HORRORVISION), a longtime friend of Bookwalter's -- even though this is the first time the two have actually worked as director and actor! While critics of BLOOD COVEN may have found the creatures more cool than creepy, Ms. Stevens' Lilith is, as Bookwalter describes her, "one creepy, mean little bitch."

But Bookwalter has not stopped there. He has enlisted popular Troma starlet Debbie Rochon (ABDUCTED II: THE REUNION, TROMEO & JULIET) in the lead role, and the director was suitably impressed. "The cast really makes this movie sing and dance," Bookwalter elaborates. "Debbie is amazing to watch. She just instinctively knew how to channel the passion of her character and she's absolutely deserving of all the praise she gets." Rochon plays Stevie, a "directoress" who is making a documentary on witchcraft with the help of her friend Rose.

Rose is also played by an actress widely known on the indie scene, and familiar to Tempe fans from her supporting role in BLOODLETTING -- New Jersey's own Tina Krause (PSYCHO SISTERS 2, TITANIC 2000)! "Brinke said it best," Bookwalter laughs. "Tina was no-brainer casting because she plays a little spitfire and that's exactly how she is in real life!"

Rounding out the female-driven cast is Tanya Dempsey, a relative newcomer. But some Tempe fans may remember her first feature -- Full Moon's SHRIEKER, which was also Bookwalter's debut for the house that Band built. "I had quite a crush on Tanya while editing SHRIEKER," the director reveals. "She had a lot on her shoulders for this movie because her character goes through some pretty sharp turns. But Tanya handled it deftly and with ease!" Dempsey plays Annie, a meek woman that appears to be in an abusive relationship and seeks out her two old friends at their sunny beach house.

Bookwalter continues, "All the ladies do such a great job that it's unfair to single anyone out...but Debbie and Tanya have some pretty heady stuff to play out and they hit the nail so dead-on compared to what I wanted that it's pretty creepy for me to watch it!"

So WITCHOUSE 3 is all femmes? Well, almost. The final cast member is an old friend of the director's, and also marks the first time they have worked together. "Paul Darrigo is part of the New Jersey film mafia I met years ago," he reveals. "His forté is stuntwork so he has this great fight on the beach with Debbie. Sadly it's a show driven by the girls, so Paul's character Burke has to face the music one way or another," he laughs.

The femme-driven energy of the movie doesn't stop in front of the camera, either. When Bookwalter approached Tammi Sutton to be production designer after a successful partnership on THE VAULT and GROOM LAKE, the two struck up a producing partnership as well. "Tammi has such a passion for making movies," Bookwalter states. "She was so willing to go into the trenches and get her hands dirty with me on the two previous films that I couldn't think of a better person to help me get this one on the screen. And, like all of the ladies on this project, she's as attractive as she is talented!"

Bookwalter claims that WITCHOUSE 3 was designed with a "less is more" attitude. "After producing GROOM LAKE and having so many CGI-based shows in a row," he explains, "I wanted to get back to basics and see what we could do with something less complicated. I jokingly refer to this as my 'anti-GROOM LAKE' but fans of the first two WITCHOUSE movies will definitely like the departure from the 'dusty old mansion' scenario. This one is sexy and fun...that is, until Lilith enters the picture and then the gloves are off."

With an extremely low budget and short schedule to overcome, Bookwalter knew that in addition to the cast, the movie would have to have its own unique vision. "Tammi makes any set look like a million bucks," he raves, "but it also has to be photographed well. That's where Danny Draven came in." Tempe fans will remember Draven from HORRORVISION, his directorial debut earlier this year which Bookwalter produced. "Danny constantly impresses me, be it as a director or editor, and now as a cinematographer," Bookwalter gushes. "This kid is talented and WITCHOUSE 3 is one of the best-looking shows we've done on DV."

Waitaminute, did he just say DV?? "Yes, I did," smiles Bookwalter. "After shooting 35mm for BLOOD COVEN it was tough for me to say yes to going back to video. But the cast and script were just too much of a draw for me to say no. I have no shame in giving DV another go, because we've got some of the best gear money can buy and I've certainly pulled more than one rabbit out of my hat on video in the past."

The real allure of the project was Charles Band's willingness to let Tempe run with it. "We've always had a lot of creative control working for Charlie," the director explains. "But usually he still wants script and cast approval. On this movie, he trusted me to just do it my way from stem to stern. We had some very tight time and money constraints but the old adage 'it's not what you have but how you use it' really comes into play. Everyone rose to the challenge and the completed project is a living testament to that."

Bookwalter co-authored the screenplay, using a foundation from earlier work by longtime collaborator Matthew Jason Walsh (THE SANDMAN). "It's been described as 'SEX & THE CITY on acid' which is as good a description as any," he laughs. "It's very actor-driven but has some great hooks and gags. I had a lot of fun on WITCHOUSE 2 playing up the twists and turns in the story, and this one is even more! Part of the fun for me is figuring out the 'whodunnit' aspect of it...this movie has a nice little twist to it."

But as Bookwalter reminds us, "the final verdict is with the audience. My test screenings thus far have been the best I've ever had!" You can be the judge for yourself come October, when the sequel debuts on VHS and Lunar Edition DVD at stores everywhere from Full Moon.

And when asked about topping the jaw-dropping special edition DVD of the previous sequel, Bookwalter scoffs. "We've got a secret weapon now...we do our own DVD authoring. Expect the usual commentary and the 5.1 surround mix and the making of, but we're working on some great new material to stretch the boundaries of the medium yet again." Judging from the followup discs for HORRORVISION and THE VAULT, that's a tough act to follow. But if anyone can do it, it's those crazy kids at Tempe.

City of Minneapolis Shuts Down Outdoor Movie Shows Barricade Ordered

Minneapolis - July 13, 2001-For Immediate Release

The city of Minneapolis will mobilize extra police tomorrow night, Saturday, July 14, 2001, to prevent the showing of the film "Vampire Hookers" outside the Grainbelt Brewery complex, located at 77 13th Ave. Northeast. According to Carter Johnson of MCDA, which manages the Grainbelt property, barricades, armed officers, and city officials will be on hand to prevent the public from attending the show. Johnson says the city will spend, "considerable funds and effort" to prevent the show from taking place.

The 1978 film was scheduled as part of Atomic Shock Theater's "Guerilla Drive-In" series. Atomic Shock Theater has presented its unique shows in numerous public and commercial venues since 1999. This marks the second consecutive summer that the troupe has presented outdoor shows at the Grainbelt, under permits issued by the City of Minneapolis. Citing sudden issues including the "right of entry" to a grassy area adjacent to the parking lot, and various city licensing issues, today's order from MCDA effectively bans any future performances planned by the troupe on MCDA property.

Atomic Shock Theater booking representative Bill Carter expressed surprise at the order from MCDA, just one day before the show. Carter says, "We regret any misunderstanding with the city in this matter. Atomic Shock Theater has long operated with the belief that it was in compliance with local ordinance. We have enjoyed a good relationship with the city and MCDA, and have certainly always been willing to work out any problematic issues. We hope this can be worked out in the near future, but we will not withdraw the film in question, "Vampire Hookers", from our repertoire of shows. We will continue searching for a venue that will allow this performance."

"Vampire Hookers" stars horror film legend John Carradine, and award-winning Philippine actor Vic Diaz. It was first released to American theaters in 1978, with an R-rating issued by the Motion Picture Association of America.

Here's the latest from the Random Foo Newsletter.

Dial '5' = Done
That's right, the Hoopty /Cook/Foo Production is finally complete. For those of you who have not been staying up to date, this was a project that C.C. Chapman and Mike Branum of Hoopty Studios came up with when it was discovered that C.C. would be traveling to San Francisco for business. This strange tail of a lost business traveler definitely isn't the norm for Foo, but it was a blast to make and we're happy that the collaboration turned out so well. Rumor is to that you'll be able to order Dial '5' shortly as part of Fade To Black 16 so stay tuned to the Foo Store. For now be sure to check out the Dial '5' Vault.

Fade To Black Explosion
Because you demanded it, we've got not one, but two new episodes for sale. Episode 14 features two movies that have both been called "creepy" for extremely different reasons. The snow-bound thriller Marionettes and the musical comedy Stubble Judge make up this episode. For Episode 15 we have a couple of classics and a new comedy to enjoy. The pre-Foo Shortcut , Chuck South's re-mastered Runnin' With Scootie and finally the bachelor challenged How To Make The One You Love Run make up this episode. As if that wasn't enough Episode 15 includes the highly popular Fade To Black Season Two Commercial that was aired at Foo Fest III. Get all the scoop at the official Fade To Black site or order your own copies for only $5 an episode in the Foo Store .

Absolute Precision On Track
This production, which was out of action at one time for the span of a few months, is now nearing completion, thanks to some long nights' work by the cast and crew. Many of the big scenes are now out of the way, including a cameo by Blackjack and the infamous " Killing Scene," featuring Roman Berman. Just a handful of scenes remain - the end of this production is very close now. Be sure to check out Absolute Precision Rumor Mill for the latest including the ever growing number of behind the scenes pictures.

The H.W.F.
The Home Wrestling Federation should make its debut by the end of this summer with the debut of SmackAround! Production on its follow-up, Home Is War, took place at the end of June. One more match needs to be filmed before this one is in the can as well. Play-by-play commentary needs to be recorded for both shows and then both episodes will be complete. Look for post production to begin on this as soon as Foo purchases it's 4th editing station.

Production Report
Of course we've got other things in the works besides those highlighted. Currently the feature length thriller After Midnight is in the middle of a two week break, but will resume filming this weekend at the Walpole Mall. Unlike the norm, we actually have permission from the mall to film inside of it! The long overdue Inquisition is set to be completed soon. A finished cut of the movie has been completed and the plan is to get it over to The Gline to compose the score by weeks end. Finally, after a break, the love story Fated is back in production with filming dates scheduled in August.

Piranha Pictures is now in production of its newest film, FIFTH CITY. Written, Produced, and Directed by Eric Thornett- fresh from his triumph 23 HOURS, a cyber/noir thriller that tore up the festival circuit and which was an official 2001 Slamdance selection- this off-beat mix of action, comedy, science fiction and mystery promises to be unlike anything being currently produced in the indie arena. And to top things off, the film features the wildest and most elaborate kung-fu action ever seen in a low-budget film.

FIFTH CITY stars Baltimore underground acting legend Cash Flagg Jr. (LETHAL FORCE, ME!), lovely ingenue Christi Etcher, and David Stewart (the star of Piranha Pictures' own 23 HOURS). Making special appearances are b-movie starlet Jasi Cotton Lanier (formerly Roxanne Michaels--TOXIC AVENGER 4, CHICKBOXING UNDERGROUND, HELLBLOCK 13), acclaimed horror director Eric Stanze (ICE FROM THE SUN, SCRAPBOOK), film provocateur Mike Z (HOW TO START A REVOLUTION IN AMERICA, MY LEFT NUT), actor D.J. The tale smacks of the 1927 version of CAT AND THE CANARY, focusing on a young woman who is summoned to her dying Grandmother's home for the reading of her will. BROTHERS, a Civil War story and DEPT.13's first period piece, is currently getting a second draft by writer Michael Clark. The story was written in 1990 for the original TWISTED REALITIES TV SERIES, but went unproduced for the duration of the show (1991-1993). PLEASE BE CERTAIN YOU LIST ALL WRITERS AND DIRECTORS WHEN REFERRING TO THIS PROJECT.

BIG FAT BILL, a short animated adventure about an obese science fiction hero is being produced by Herb Henderson as a test to determine what will be the most efficient way to begin a DEPT.13 Animated Movie Catalog. The dialogue tracks have been recorded, and feature the vocal talents of Barry King, Charlie Fells, and Joseph Garmon. Up and coming indie rock band, MONOLITH have been approached for a score with a "Dick Dale" sound. If successful, the short will be released as a "pre-feature" cartoon on one of the new tapes. If unsuccessful, it will evaporate into obscurity and become a highly sought after Convention Bootleg item. :)

REALM OF THE BIZARRE 2 began to gel at the beginning of 2001 with a shoot for a new naughty short titled A FACE FULL OF ZOMBIE. The tale revolves around the antics of a cranky fat guy named Marty (Michael A. Clark) and his attempts to recoup his money from a porn site after the web cam girl is murdered during a show. Nora Villa, who played the victim attacked in the city in DIAL 911, has been signed to play the Web Cam Girl. This will be young Nora's first role in which she is featured FULLY NUDE. Definitely a MUST SEE! The story is written and directed by The Naughty Herb Henderson. More info on this title to come. A tentative release date could be Summer 2002.

Chat has begun between CLIFF SHELTON and HERB HENDERSON regarding CURIOUS DAVE, an adventure yarn about an inept freelance detective who can travel through time. The three CURIOUS DAVE shorts were written, directed and produced by Herb Henderson in 1989 and 1994, but require a deal between to the long time friends as the characters are the intellectual property of Cliff Shelton. Should an agreement be struck, this would be DEPT.13's first science fiction release. More later.

SEDUCTION CINEMA signs 8 picture deal with INDEPENDENT-INTERNATIONAL PICTURES

EI Independent Cinema has licensed eight feature films from legendary B-movie producer Sam Sherman whose partnership with the late Al Adamson created some of the most infamous and popular drive-in movies of the 70's including such notorious favorites as Dracula vs. Frankenstein and Satan's Sadists. Of the eight films licensed from Sherman, three are Joseph Sarno masterpieces - his watershed 1967 erotic classic Inga, its sequel The Seduction of Inga, and Swedish Wildcats. The cult erotic/sci-fi epic Cinderella 2000, Nurse Sherri (a.k.a. Hospital of Terror), Blazing Stewardesses, and Naughty Stewardesses are all directed by Al Adamson. Jerry Gross' Female Animal rounds out the roster of films.

The uncut Swedish version of Inga will be seeing its long-awaited, officially licensed release to U.S. home video. Female Animal, too, will be available for the first time on home video, and Cinderella 2000 will experience its first release in its original Todd AO aspect ratio. All eight titles are to be released simultaneously as deluxe VHS and DVD packages on the Retro Seduction Cinema label and will feature plenty of bonus materials including original artwork and commentary tracks by Sam Sherman for Female Animal, Cinderella 2000, Nurse Sherri, Blazing Stewardesses, and Naughty Stewardesses. Stay tuned for more news on these titles.

Seduction Cinema launches "Retro-Seduction Cinema"

SEDUCTION CINEMA announces the creation of Retro-Seduction Cinema - a new home video label devoted exclusively to classic European and American erotic cinema from the 1960s and 70s. A natural outgrowth of Seduction Cinema, Seduction’s wildly popular and successful line of contemporary erotica that includes such titles as The Erotic Witch Project, Caress of the Vampire, Gladiator Eroticvs and Erotic Survivor, Retro-Seduction Cinema will present Collector’s Edition VHS and DVD releases of some of the steamiest and most critically acclaimed erotic films ever to play the grindhouse theatrical circuit that once flourished across America. Each film is a testament to the popularity of the soft-core genre during a time when these films could dare to be audacious and outrageous, truly erotic, and, sometimes, comical or even arty. Over the years, many of these films have been available on the VHS format but were manufactured from master tapes struck from scratchy and poorly maintained negatives or projection prints. Each Retro-Seduction Cinema title shall see an enhanced or re-transfered release that will help to restore the visual integrity of the film.

The first two releases on the Retro-Seduction Cinema label are the West German productions I Like the Girls Who Do and Inn of 1,000 Sins (a.k.a. The Happy Gigolo and Room Service) from 1973 and 1975, respectively. Both VHS and DVD showcase stunning artwork and new erotic featurettes starring Seduction Cinema’s Misty Mundae. The featurettes are produced specifically for these Collector’s Edition releases.

Future films to appear on Retro-Seduction Cinema include Joseph Sarno’s legendary Inga (1967) and The Seduction of Inga (1969), both starring 18 year old Swedish sensation Marie Liljedahl, as well as his Girls Meets Girl (a.k.a. Bibi), Butterflies, Swedish Wildcats and Vampire Ecstasy (a.k.a. Veil of Blood). Female Animal, Run Virgin Run, Pleasures of a Woman, Wendy’s Naughty Night and The Naughty Mistress round out the erotic gems that comprise the premier release schedule of this exciting new label.

Vampire's Seduction 2 now in post-production

Seduction Cinema's John Bacchus is at it again on his newest movie, Vampire's Seduction 2, the sexy sequel to the auteur's first feature film. Due to the popular success of Vampire's Seduction, Bacchus was asked by Michael Beckerman to produce a sequel to the whimsical soft-core flick. "There is one scene from the first Vampire's Seduction that I truly enjoyed," said Bacchus. "The ménage-a-trois between those three young girls was terrific, but the other scenes, I thought, lacked heat. This version will be MUCH MORE erotic." Tina Krause has been asked to reprise her role as Dracoola. Vampire's Seduction 2 promises to deliver steamy scenes mixed with quirky and animated humor. Vampire's Seduction 2 will be available in early 2002.

Erotic Witch Project 2 now in the can

Erotic Witch Project 2 has just completed production. John Bacchus has returned to form with a more “reality based” erotic extravaganza. “John Bacchus was very tired and burned out at the end of Gladiator Eroticus” quoted Beckerman. “I felt that he needed a rest after working such long hours on the post production heels of Gladiator.” John Bacchus spent many days toiled away in completing the sequel’s script. “I found the return to Erotic Witch to be fun and arduous. The challenge was to make another voyeuristic film like the original, but not to retread on the same grounds. There are some nods to Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows, but Erotic Witch 2 is more a sequel to the original Erotic Witch.” Erotic Witch Project 2 will be available in late spring.

Misty Mundae takes Seduction Cinema by storm

Critics are drooling with madness over Seduction Cinema's newest ingénue, Misty Mundae. "I was sitting in my office during a pre-production meeting. One of my assistants was playing a Factory 2000 movie in the shipping office of E.I. Cinema, and I suddenly shouted, WHO'S THAT GIRL!" exhales Seduction Cinema producer Michael Beckerman. After discovering the long list of fetish films that Misty has appeared in, Beckerman cast Misty in several Seduction Cinema films including Gladiator Eroticvs, Erotic Survivor, and Vampire's Seduction 2. Misty is also to be cast in the much-anticipated shot-on-film feature, The Awakening of Misty Mundae. When asked about The Awakening, Beckerman was quoted as saying, "I am planning on making a film so stunning and erotic that it will burn the house down!" Misty is currently the cover model for Retro-Seduction Cinema. "Misty has the same beautiful qualities that all the great leading ladies from the 50s and 60s possessed. She certainly has charm, wit, beauty, and grace. Misty is truly the Ingrid Bergman of eroticism! I am absolutely sure that fans and critics will agree," claims Beckerman.

G-String Vampire in post production

Sean Thornton (Hot Vampire Nights) has just completed his sophomore film for Seduction Cinema. In it, sexy Janet Turner (Barbie Leigh) is a special agent for The Midnight Syndicate, an ancient organization dedicated to destroying vampires. She's been sent undercover to Miami to locate and eliminate an infiltration of vampires in a sizzling South Beach strip club. Barbie Leigh, in her film debut, is recognized worldwide as "The World's Biggest Exhibitionist," winning titles such as Miss Nude Florida, Miss Nude Petite, Nude Entertainer of The Year, Nude Dancer of The Year, and The Easy Rider Calendar Girl Competition. G-String Vampire also stars Tracy Rose, a diminutive Vietnamese-American who started her film career in Playboy's "Women of Color 3" and went on to star in "Amber Lynn's TV." She's looking forward to starring in more Seduction Cinema films. So are we. G-String Vampire is set to be released in early 2002.

Jon Keeyes recently posted the following statement on his website regarding the status of his film AMERICAN NIGHTMARE starring the beautiful Debbie Rochon.

"Well, my friends, the day has nearly arrived. We have been made an offer for domestic distribution on American Nightmare from a large domestic distributor. We have received the contracts and our lawyers are currently going over it. If all is good, we should be signing the contract in the next week or so.

"Through this company (to be named once we sign the contract) we will see American Nightmare released on video and DVD across America, Canada and U.S. territories. This distributor has a huge distribution chain that will get American Nightmare into video rental stores and retail stores everywhere. If all goes as planned, the movie will be released in the fourth quarter of this year (Oct Dec). We will know better what that release schedule is over the next month or so.

"I'm quite happy with this deal and even more happy to see that American Nightmare will get good, national distribution. I'll keep you update on what transpires.

"In other news, be sure to watch the newsstands during the next week. The new issue of Femme Fatales is up ready to come out with American Nightmare as the magazine's cover. The cover will feature Jane (Debbie Rochon) wrapped in an American Flag. The issue has a huge layout on the movie.

"And finally, we have had a couple of offers for foreign distribution. We are currently speaking with these companies and should know more in the next few weeks. If all goes well, the world could be watching American Nightmare before the end of the year!

Mark Pirro had the following to say regarding the upcoming DVD releases of his films POLISH VAMPIRE and QUEERWOLF.

Hello everybody,

Good news for us all. We managed to get the audio masters for Polish Vampire and Queewolf and are restoring the sound as well as the picture on both movies. What this means is, you'll now be able to hear the soundtracks the way they were originally intended. These are soundtracks that were NEVER properly configured in previous releases of these films. Polish Vampire was originally mixed in stereo, but when it came out on VHS over 16 years ago, it was released in mono, and with considerable "hiss" at that. Now, thanks to today's technology, we are able to go back to our twenty year old audio master tapes (barely holding together) and transfer them to the new remastered films for our DVD release with MTI Home Video. Naturally, sound cuts and blends will have to be made to keep the films in sync since in the remastering process, bad splices and jumps are being eliminated, causing sound to drift. This will also shorten the movie by a few minutes, but I think I can live with that to have a better movie. It's quite an ordeal and very time consuming, but I assure you it will be worth it. For the first time these films will look and sound better than ever.

I located some deleted scenes and bloopers from Polish Vampire and Queerwolf, which will really enhance the DVD. I'm also working on documentaries on the making of the films, including interviews with cast and crew members. It's tough tracking some of these people down: I haven't gotten return calls from Lori (Delores) Sutton and Kent (Richard Cheese) Butler, Eddie (Sphincter) Deezen probably wouldn't want to be interviewed, Bobbi (Misty) Dorsch and her brother Steve (Ernie) hate my guts, Brad (Ted) Waisbren turned into a bitter old man, and if Mike (Queerwolf) Palazzolo agreed to be interviewed, he probably would show up late and only stay for ten minutes.

We did get interview agreements from several cast members however:

John McCafferty (Queerbilly in Qwolf, Spy in Polish Vampire)
Patrick Hunter (Queerbilly in Qwolf)
Taylor Whitney (Lois in Qwolf)
Sergio Bandera (Priest in Qwolf)
Marya Gant (Yvonne in Polish Vampire)
Rodney Trappe (Torchman in Qwolf)
Tyrone Dubose (Pimp in Polish Vamp)
Alfie Pearl (Theatre Manager in Polish Vampire, Detective Morose in Qwolf)

The list may grow as we continue to track down performers.

We're not sure, but we believe that Hugh O. Fields, the man who played Father Vampire in PV and the Fagxorcist in QW may have passed away. His numbers aren't working anymore. If anyone has information on Mr. Fields, we would appreciate it.

The downside to this is that it's become a front burner issue, putting future film writing and shooting plans in limbo. Remastering and collecting items for the DVD is becoming a full time job.
