With Emily HaackFrom what I've heard billowing from the rumor mill, BIZARRE LUST OF A SEXUAL DEVIANT is Sub Rosa's first attempt at cracking the WAVE audience. I've only seen one WAVE title, V IS FOR VAMPIRE, and it wasn't anything like the weirdness in BIZARRE LUST.
We all have our sexual hangups and fetishes. Personally, girls with poor taste in shoes do nothing for me, while a set of abs really gets me going.
But BIZARRE LUST OF A SEXUAL DEVIANT isn't meant for people like me. It's designed for people with...how shall I put this...stronger appetites.
The movie revolves around a guy, the Sexual Deviant in the title, who breaks into women's homes to take pictures of them naked. That alone makes this chap a pretty f*cked up cat, but just taking pictures isn't enough for him. He chloroforms his victims, and while they are unconscious he posses them throughout their home.
Sorry boys, my .....er....appetite....just isn't that strong.
I'm reminded of another fetish video from Factory 2000, THE BIZARRE CASE OF THE ELECTRIC CORD STRANGLER, and I won't attack the validity of either film. These movies are intended as surrogates for which those possessing a specific fetish can vicariously live that fetish without causing anyone harm.
Just the thought that there are people out there who would get off on the events depicted is pretty damned frightening. That thought is why I couldn't turn the tape off, it's utterly fascinating. It illuminates a sexual underground that's pretty foreign to my......as many a paste girlfriends liked to put it.... "vanilla" tastes.
Not having seen many videos of this type, I feel pretty comfortable stating that BIZARRE CASE OF A SEXUAL DEVIANT is probably the best chloroforming photographer video you're likely to find anywhere. This was produced by award winning underground filmmaker Eric Stanze and his usual St. Louis pool of talent, most of whom are working under pseudonyms. Stanze is a pretty intense filmmaker with sharp cinematic intellect and wealth of dark filmmaking talent, but this stuff is too weird even for him to keep his name on it. That says a lot.
