"Freakcidents" claims to be a surrealist sideshow, which I found to be a bit of an understatement.

Michael Arnzen has written a small collection of horror poetry that transcends horror. Sure, he writes about deformed children dealing with the outside world. Their highs and lows. Their frustrations and anger. But what is so brilliant about this collection is how Arnzen uses literal outside descriptions of the freaks to describe the internal alienation and awkwardness of humans.

Each poem is a swirl of emotions: empathy, revulsion, humor, and depression swimming around though the alignment of words, invading your mind, and warming your heart.

If you are not a fan of horror poetry or even poetry, then you are missing a new transcending voice in horror…shit, literature, okay. Let "Freakcidents" be the first book of poetry you buy.
