Andrew Mayhem is in a bind. He damaged his car and doesn't have insurance or a steady job. But what he is afraid of is his wife who doesn’t know about the missing insurance. Needing money fast and easy, Andrew and his best pal Roger take up an odd job. Jennifer, a widow they meet in a diner, wants them to dig up her recently dead husband and remove a key hidden somewhere on his body.

Easy, right?

When they dig the husband up, they discover he is not dead and very armed. But it gets worse. A third party sucks Andrew into a twisted game of violence and snuff, and the killer will do anything to make the game interesting.

"Graverobbers Wanted" is sick, funny, but most importantly: entertaining. The strength of the novel lies in the voice of Andrew Mayhem. The prose is lean and filled with sarcastic remarks. But when things get serious and disturbingly violent, the humor stays out and the tension floods in.

Strand mixes mystery and horror with skill reminiscent of Joe Lansdale or Don Winslow. I can honestly say that I didn't know who the killer was until the very end and I usually figure this stuff out pretty soon.

There is plenty of gore and clever murders that will leave you in disbelief. I couldn't believe how well Strand handles the police/ guillotine/ game show sequence.

I did not want this to end, and fortunately, Strand has more of Andrew Mayhem coming soon.

"Graverobbers Wanted (No Experience Necessary) is a twisted, fast, and addicting novel that will keep you guessing and laughing.
