John Turi claims that this is a volume of short stories and poetry that you read while you fuck a corpse. Hmmm. As great as the book is, I don't think the corpse is going to soften up. You might want to flex the muscles to loosen the rigor mortis.

But here is what he has for ya:

A Vietnam vet returns to his hometown for a funereal in "The Lion Sleeps Tonight."

In "Recollection," a bored shrink listens to his female patients crappy and abused past.

"And I Wait" a killer awaits the electric chair.

A recently deceased spirit begins a journey of healing the world in "Jizo."

A couple satisfies their violent sexual cravings with a neighbor in "Welcome to the Feeding."

A dying man finds salvation from a homeless man in "A Warm, Dry Place."

In "Little Boy Grape Juice," a boy loses his family and sanity.

We follow a Bundy/Bateman like killer in "The Killing Mind."

In a nursery rhyme fashion, a killer plays games with two boys that he baby-sits in "The Cat Who Fucked Rats."

The stork that delivered him haunts a "Damaged Little Fucker".

"Drain, Drain, Drain the Corpse" is a how-to on embalming the dead.

And a Junkie shoots up in "Dead by Nine."

There is some great over the top violence in this collection but there is also a lot of spirituality in it. Turi grasps the human spirit as it falls down a dark hole or climbs up to the light.

The poetry that runs between the stories is hypnotic, erotic, and captivating. There is a controversy surrounding a poem called C.U.N.T. but I don't see it. It is actually somewhat romantic.

"Sorrow" is an extremely cool collection of stories and poems about pain and healing from a pioneer in extreme horror fiction who is bound to create a brilliant novel in the future.
