I'll be honest, I'm new to the whole fetish scene. When it comes down to it, I'm as vanilla as it gets, suburban to the core. The thought of pouring latex onto my partner or being beaten by my leather-clad dominatrix girlfriend had never really occurred to me...until now. After viewing HIHH....well, I want convert!

Kidding aside, there isn't much to HIHH. It's a pretty straight forward posing video with Howard setting each of her models in different fetish scenarios ranging from the before mentioned latex and domination to 1950's greasers and even a Betty Page fantasy.

You grade a video like this by how well it turns you on. I think Penthouse magazine gives the different stages of erections to tell how hot and heavy a porn title is. HIHH isn't about making the audience hot and heavy, but it is about arousal, it's just that the audience isn't necessarily the ones meant to be turned on.

HIHH is about finding the art in sexual deviance, and Justice Howard does just that. Picture Bondage 101 for the kids who haven't the balls to visit their first goth club. HIHH allows the viewer to experience the explosive beauty of goth eroticism first hand, all from the safety of your living room.

Those looking for a full hour of nude models won't be disappointed. Those looking for something new and different won't be disappointed. Those looking for a glimpse of the dark side won't be disappointed. Face it, you won't be disappointed.

DVD Review

You can see the true power of DVD when comparing the VHS and DVD versions of HELLCATS IN HIGH HEELS. The picture on the VHS edition looked like was two or three generations down from the dubbing master. The DVD is pristine and clear, as if you were right there in the studios with all of Justice Howard's gorgeous models.

The DVD is a good start for Sub Rosa Studios, a company that until now has been a little late at jumping on the DVD bandwagon. The user-friendly interactive menus stay true to Howard's atmosphere and cutting-edge, punk-rock mindset. Something you'll find on the DVD that you won't anywhere else is an exclusive Julie Strain pictorial featuring Julie as a futuristic, crotchless fishnet-wearing, pink-colored anime chick. For fans of Howard or Strain, that alone should be reason enough to pick this one up.

Julie Strain pictorial aside, the disc is low on features. This wouldn't bother me except for the 4-minute Sub Rosa trailer that you MUST watch before you get to the video. This would have served better as part of an all-inclusive trailer vault where you could pick and choose what you wanted to view. Currently, the trailer vault includes the 3 trailers for each of the HELLCATS videos.

On the plus side, viewers are treated to Howard's no-nonsense commentary were you not only learn the project's production history, but also how many people have stolen her ideas over the years. To hear her tell it, there's quite a few. You will also find a short Howard biography as well as links to her website. Overall, it's not a bad disc. Low on features, but I suspect if Sub Rosa packed the disc then their efforts would have in vain. This is a disc designed to cater to fans of Howard's fierce sense of eroticism and not those who would be so inclined to purchase BATTLEFIELD EARTH just because the disc is packed.
