Many people think the key to a successful exploitation film is the title. It has to stick out. There has to be a ring to it. It has to stay with you all day. Who cares if the title has nothing to do with the movie as long you remember it? I'll give Lou Vockel this, he comes up with great titles.

In the case of HOOKERS IN A HAUNTED HOUSE, the title tells you everything there is to know about the movie. You've got hookers and you've got a haunted house. The hookers get naked and the ghosts take in the view.

This is one of those movies where it looks like everyone had a blast making. The tongue is planted so firmly in cheek that it almost comes out the other side. What a party it must have been to film this one…

Everything is told mostly in flashback. Vockel's staple actress, Leslie Culton, is the sole survivor of a night in the house and tells her story to a TV News reporter. Six went in, one came out. It's like the softcore version of Highlander.

My favorite scene is almost a throw-away gag, but it sums up the movie perfectly. During the news telecast, the ratings start to decline. Culton knows instantly what she has to do to keep everyone glued to their seats; flash her over-enhanced breasts to the camera. Sure enough, it does the trick. That's basically the entire film in a nutshell, it's an excuse to get large-breasted woman naked. That's not a bad thing, not by a long shot.

HOOKERS IN A HAUNTED HOUSE never takes itself seriously. The jokes are as bad as the acting and the sex exudes a silly, childlike innocence. Everything is in good, clean fun. Vockel doesn't try to do anything more than entertain, and he succeeds wonderfully. I have no problem suggesting this one, check it out.
