You can only say so much about lesbian sex movies. After a while, they all start to look the same. Two minutes of set-up for ten minutes of crotch diving. I'm not knocking the formula, I much prefer softcore to hardcore erotica, it's just that over time the movies all blur together and as a reviewer it's hard to keep coming up with something different to say for each one.

THE MUMMY'S KISS is pretty standard stuff compared to the late night Cinemax scene, infact I'm sure it will play pretty well in rotation on that network. You have a myriad of beautiful girls and enough story to string the sex along, probably more story than the typical late night cable fare - there's equal parts set-up and sex. But in the end, THE MUMMY'S KISS is still very run of the mill even when considering the supernatural slate of material.

Compared to most Seduction Cinema titles, it's a big step up in terms of production value, but it lacks the loveably goofy personality we've come to expect from SC titles. What really sets the movie apart is the commentary, something that's really helped a number of movies I've reviewed recently , especially Seduction Cinema titles. Listening to it, you gain a real appreciation of what the filmmakers were trying to accomplish and what their inspirations and motivations were.

THE MUMMY'S KISS isn't merely designed to cash in on the current mummy craze, but is instead a series of homages to classic Universal horror titles......with lots of sex and gorgeous women thrown in to spice things up. Listening to the commentary by Director Donald F. Glut and Kevin M. Glover one gets a real feel for how much they love those older films, but more importantly you get a feel for how chaotic the modern b-movie world can be. They discuss actresses dropping off the face of the planet and having to do casting sessions at midnight the evening before a big shoot. The two discuss the need for flexibility and how a moviemaker needs to be able to distance himself from the material and not be bogged down with total perfection so that the production can move forward all the while citing instances in their film where their level-headed approach kept them from pulling their hair out.

The first time I watched THE MUMMY'S KISS, I grew bored and quickly hit the fast forward, something I've found myself doing a lot lately with erotic titles. Even the presence of Richard Lynch, the always enjoyable Sasha Peralta, and some truly amazing Playboy models weren't enough for me to slow down. But the second time around, the commentary kept me glued to the tube. What Glut and Glover have to say is truly inspirational and educational.

Maybe I'm just growing tired of whole erotic thing. I never thought I would see the day when I find myself more enamored with two men chatting than two women making out. Maybe I need to finally sit down and watch MY DINNER WITH ANDRE...

The DVD presentation of THE MUMMY'S KISS about average for a Seduction Cinema title. You get their usual trailer vault and behind the scenes footage. The only real problem with Seduction's featurettes is that they have no rhyme or reason to them. A behind the scenes featurette is usually homevideo footage cobbled together and allowed to ramble. There's no real focus to them. But as I say in pretty much every review for a Seduction Cinema title, do you buy these things for the features or the naked girls?
