SYRACUSE, NY -- Filmmakers seeking to carry on the rich tradition of the B-Movies have until July 1 to submit their features and short films to the fourth annual B-Movie Film Festival, which will be held September 14-15 at the Westcott Theater in Syracuse, NY.

The festival defines a "B-Movie" as a low-budget film which provides a level of entertainment and/or artistic value which rivals or surpasses big-budget mainstream pictures. Productions shot on either film or video will be considered. All genres are welcome for consideration, including short subjects and documentaries, and the festival would prefer films with a defined narrative versus free-form experimental work. Entry fees are $35 per feature and $25 per short. Submissions should be on either DVD or VHS videotape.

The top films at the festival will receive the Killer-B Awards for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Foreign Film and other categories. The awards will be presented in a special ceremony hosted by a B-Movie celebrity; previous hosts included B-Stars Roxanne Michaels and Debbie Rochon. All films submitted for the festival will also be reviewed for the Killer-B Awards and for possible theatrical and home video release via a leading distributor of independent productions.

The B-Movie Film Festival will also coincide with the announcement of the fifth annual inductions into the B-Movie Hall of Fame, an online pantheon honoring the classics and artists of this celebrated celluloid orbit. For more information on the B-Movie Film Festival, please visit the Internet web site http://www.b-movie.com/hof/fest.html or e-mail webmaster@b-movie.com.

The B-Movie Film Festival is sponsored by Sub Rosa Studios, PO Box 5515, Syracuse, NY 13220; tel. 315-454-5608.

Ramzi Abed says that "we are almost finished with my first feature project, a digital film entitled, "Upside Downtown". It has been confirmed that Shanti Guy (director of "Texas Night Train") will be editing it! We're filming the last segment and some pick ups in the next couple of weeks. The cast includes Bloodshot Pictures' regulars, Eric Fleming, Heather Bohlmann, Tamarah Murley, and Casey Wickson. Also starring though, are subculture icons like Benjie Bollox of The Visitors and The UK Subs, Tromette and singer, Evie, and Pin-up star and actress extraordinaire, Masuimi Max ( www.iamtrouble.com ). The incomprable Amanda Staggs is Key Make-Up on the film too. Look out for "Upside Downtown" at the end of this year."

"Under The World", a DV short directed by Jordan Bolinger ("Madeline 2.0"), and co-produced by myself (Ramzi Abed) and Hunter Carson, is nearing completion. The short film, which is a loose reworking of the Orpheus myth, stars Hunter Carson ("Paris, Texas"), Brandy Little ("American Nightmare"), Tamarah Murley, and Eric Fleming. We're all anxious to see this one. Jordan will be editing the project as well, and composer, Oneiros, will be creating the score. The short should be finished in time for submission to festivals in the fall of 2002.

A STERN REACTION TO PLAY-MATE

As a follow-up to a successfulfirst swing at radio advertising, Seduction Cinema ran its Play-mate of theApes 60-second radio spot on “K-Rock ” 92.3 FM in New York City,April 23 through April 26 – most notably during the #1 nationally syndicated(and Seduction Cinema’s all-time favorite!) morning radio program, “The HowardStern Radio Show.” On the morning ofApril 22, before he even knew he would be doing a live read of the Play-mateof the Apes ad the next day, Stern talked to a national audience about howhe had “pleasured” himself to Play-mate that very weekend. Then, on April 23, just as he was beginningthe live read of the ad, Stern suddenly realized he was already quite“familiar” with the popular SC film and its – and Misty Mundae’s – sultrylesbian charms! It was a funny moment, and, suffice to say, Seduction Cinema was only too happy to have had a hand inStern’s auto-stimulation. Thanks toHoward, Gary, Jonathan, and all at K-Rock in New York!

Sideshow Cinema has begun production on their new comedy, Honey Glaze. The movie is inspired by Honey West, which was a 60's TV show and series of pulp novels about the exploits of a female detective. We will be injecting our brand of really silly, absurd humor into the adventure as Honey Glaze tracks down the murderer of her father, and finds herself embroiled in a madman's scheme to take over the internet. Anyone who enjoyed our previous movies such as Working Stiffs, Braindrainer or Curtains can look forward to more of this kind of high quality stupidity. The cast features Lorna Nogueira as Honey, and features Sideshow actors Robin Gabrielli, Cherry Zinger, and myself. The movie is expected to be finished in the fall, and Sub Rosa is slated to release it on DVD.

Having confronted and destroyed Lady Mendax, the Queen of the Vampires, last night, Alex Monday is now in fear for his life. He knows that Mendax's followers will be after him for revenge. But this is least of his troubles. He has in his posession an ancient text known as The Chronicon Ex Chronicus, and the vampires are even more keen to get their talons on the book than around his throat! Alex turns to an old friend for help. Surely this deadly and occult book is safe in the hands of a blind clergyman? This twenty minute movie brings together such diverse and Fortean elements as The Holy Grail, The Chronicon Ex Chronicus, Cathar Knights, The Seige of Languedoc and Vampires Welcome to the unhinged world of Alex Monday... where death is all a matter of time! Filmed on location in Wales and Worcester, and using The Mug House, Claines, as it's principle location, "The Chronicles of Gatri epside two - Recalling Gatri" is 20 minutes of chilling drama which is FREE to download and view now!

MalleuS Independent Motion Pictures ( www.malleus.co.uk) are a bunch of amateur artists who make these features for the sheer bloody-minded hell of it - not financial gain - so you can all go see it online anytime you want for FREE an we won't mind at all.

If you missed episode one (now wiped from our limited webspace) - don't fret, this story stands alone with it's self-contained plot. We're planning a VHS release of episode one in the future and you can find out more from our website.

If you go to watch this modest vampire movie set in rural England you're comments would be very much appreciated, either within our guestbook or e-mailed directly to us.

HAUNTED" WRAPS PRINCIPLE PHOTOGRAPHY

The first MINDSCAPE PICTURES production, "Haunted," a ghost-story about four kidnapper/murderers stalked by a dangerous spirit, finished lensing this past Friday, March 29, 2002. Director Jason Santo oversaw the five-day production that took place each weekend in March. The film stars newcomers Gene Dante, Ron Higgins, Thomas Howard, and Sheri Carter along with veterans Roman Berman, Frank Parker and Jason Santo.

The shoot was quite an exercise to complete as several members of the cast and crew were struck down with illness due to allergies to the mold and dust filling the rickety set. Also a difficulty was the fact that ninety percent of the picture is set with the lights out, requiring a number of alternative lighting techniques.

Over the course of the shoot, a total of 11 people worked on the picture, many wearing numerous hats. While Santo wrote, shot, directed and acted in "Haunted," Roman Berman also picked up the camera and acted, while also producing. Same goes for co-producer Sheri Carter who also shared make-up duties with Kimberly Conley and actor Gene Dante. Ron Higgins, who plays "Cramer" in the movie, also managed to do the majority of the sound, picking up where Frank Parker left off after his day of acting/mic operating. In fact, almost everyone on the set worked in several capacities.

"Haunted" is slated to run about 35 minutes and will be released on a collection of longer narrative movies (30-35 minutes each) called "MINDSCAPE PICTURES Presents." Also planned to be released on the collection are the movies "His Life," starring Roman Berman and Jennifer Chaplain, and "In a Sky With No Angels" starring Jason Santo and Kathy Nestor.

"BENT" REPLACED AS MINDSCAPE PICTURES' FIRST FEATURE-LENGTH RELEASE April 1, 2002

When MINDSCAPE PICTURES opened its doors on February 1, 2002, it was announced that work had begun on "Bent," a short-film anthology connected by a running-water theme that acts as an analogy for the unpredictability the paths lives take. While work is continuing on "Bent," the overall feel of the project has changed into more of an artistic collection of movies that are more experimental in nature. Thus a number of new productions are underway, including the now-in-production "Here Comes Your Man."

This posed the MINDSCAPE PICTURES team with an interesting problem: most of their finished or soon-to-be finished productions are longer, more linear narrative tales the likes of "His Life" and the upcoming "In a Sky With No Angels" and "Haunted." The solution: "MINDSCAPE PICTURES Presents," a collection of longer stories that are not bound by a common theme.

"MINDSCAPE PICTURES Presents" is scheduled to be released at the end of summer, 2002 on both VHS and DVD. Running time will approzimately be one-hour, thirty minutes. Right now, there are no specifics regarding DVD extras, but there are plenty of out-takes and even some deleted scenes to some of the productions, as well as trailers.

FOO FEST 2002

This past weekend we held our 4th annual Foo Fest at Bentley College. The great people from WBTY and Alpha Psi Omega sponsored the event once again and it was a night of laughs. We premiered three movies including Scissors, Kung Foo and Inquisition. As well the crowd was treated to the fan-favorite Running With Scootie and the instant hit Knock on Wood. All in all it was a great evening and we got to meet some cool new people at it and see some familiar faces that we had not seen in a while. Everyone seemed to be looking forward to next years event as well so stay tuned!

NEW PROJECTS IN THE WORKS

As always, we never slow down around here so new projects have a habit of popping up quickly. Right now two projects are officially in Pre-Production. The first is a movie that we are releasing in conjunction with Fjordland Entertainment called That Sun. We're currently in need of two actors for this film so if you know someone between the ages of 50-80 who is available for a weekend shoot in April or May please contact us at casting@randomfoo.com. The second new project is tiled Sides and was written and will be directed by long time Foo Frank Parker. Look for this project to star some familiar faces and be filmed in the very near future.

FOO ENTERS THE DVD MARKET

Recently Foo bought a new editing station with the capability to produce DVDs. The initial tests have been run and they proved very successful. Thus, we are moving forward with our first release which will be a Special Edition version of Inquisition. The DVD will contain the original film as well as deleted scenes, an alternative ending, stills gallery and trailers for other upcoming Foo movies. We don't have a release date or a price yet, but the plan is to have it into fans hands by this summer. Stay tuned!

BACKLOG CLEARING

With the release of Scissors , Kung Foo and Inquisition our backlog of projects waiting to be edited has cleared up quite a bit. Currently being worked on are Eternal and Next Action Hero. There are also rumors of some more re-mastered classics being worked on, but no one is talking about which ones they might be. Stay tuned to the Rumor Mill for the latest information.

From Mark Pirro:

"It’s been three years since we finished Color-Blinded and six years since we started it. I was still in my 30’s. Damn, where does the time go? It appears as though time moves a lot quicker now and I move through it a lot slower. I forgot how much work pre-production of a no budget film is. Anyway, we’re slowly moving through the pre-production phase of Rectuma and will be continuing throughout the spring. Thanks to all of you who have been sending your pictures, resumes, thoughts, ideas, offerings, suggestions, etc. I especially want to thank Rick Popko and Dan West for offering to “construct” an actual Rectuma for the movie. I hope you don’t hate me by the time this is finished."

CHEERS

Seduction Cinema would like to officially extend a warm welcoming hand to director/editor/cameraman/ Englishman extraordinaire Johnny Crash as he joins the SC team. Recently arrived in New Jersey from “across the pond,” Dave has been hard at work performing a multiple of production, post-production, and writing tasks, and his expertise and energy are greatly appreciated and applauded by all at SC. Cheers, Johnny and Victoria English.

THE FIRST LADY OF SEDUCTION CINEMA

Seduction Cinema is excited to announce that Misty Mundae has been signed as the first exclusive “Seduction Cinema Girl.” For the next three years Misty fans can look forward to her starring in at least five Seduction Cinema films as well as producing, writing and directing three others.

It’s been quite a year already for Seduction Cinema’s fan-favorite, Misty Mundae. After starring in the extremely successful 2001 erotic parodies Gladiator Eroticvs and Erotic Survivor, she blazed into 2002 as the butt-kicking action heroine of Misty Mundae Mummy Raider, then she did her best Charlton Heston impersonation as the sultry space explorer in Play-Mate of the Apes, and now she’s writing and directing her own features for Seduction Cinema, including Confessions of a Natural Beauty and Lustful Addiction (see below for more on these releases). Fans can check out www.mistymundae.com for more details.

HOBBIT YOUR WAY

Production is set to begin on Seduction Cinema’s newest erotic parody and its most ambitious and eagerly anticipated film to date, J.R.R. Bacchus’ The Lord of G Strings: The Femaleship of the Ring. Armed with the tremendous box-office and critical success of the Peter Jackson epic and the likely guarantee of mega-hit follow-up films in 2002 and 2003, it was all too obvious to executive producers John Bacchus and Michael Beck (a.k.a. Michael Beckerman) that a “big” Seduction Cinema spoof was in order. And while writing and directing chores have fallen into the very able hands and shaggy beard (just like Mr. Jackson!) of Terry M. West (Witchbabe), you can rest assured that Middle Earth will experience the kind of unadulterated eroticism and hilarious hijinx that have become the popular trademark of SC. Look for lovely SC contract player Misty Mundae (Play-Mate of the Apes) and the vivacious Julian Wells (Who Wants to be an Erotic Billionaire) to be on board for this ultra-sexy fantasy as well as delicious SC newcomer Kelli Summers (That 70’s Girl). Together they will make The Lord of G Strings a thrilling and spectacular adventure the likes of which has never been seen! Keep an eye out for the latest on this blockbuster production in upcoming SC news.

WORLD WIDE WEBSLINGER

“Able to leap tall buildings in a single…!” Wait a second! Wrong superhero. But who cares ’cause Seduction Cinema is tackling one of the most beloved masked avengers of all time - Spiderman - in a thrilling live-action spoof of both the classic comic book and the upcoming Sam Raimi feature based upon it. The specifics of this Seduction Cinema production, tentatively titled SpiderBabe, are currently under skin-tight spandex wraps, but you can expect further exciting news in the coming months. Suffice to say that this SC movie will have you climbing the walls in sticky anticipation!

IN PRODUCTION/POST-PRODUCTION

The Naughty Experiments of Dr. Jekyll and Mistress Hyde

Seduction Cinema’s LA-lensed erotic horror film starring Misty Mundae, Julian Wells, and Ruby LaRocca is currently in post-production under the scrutinizing eye of director Tony Marsiglia (The Witches of Sappho Salon). Based upon an initial clip reel supplied to SC by Marsiglia, it is immediately apparent that this film will be something special to behold. Striking in its tone, level of sensuality, and visual style, …Dr. Jekyll and Mistress Hyde is a stellar showcase for the talents and the beauty of all the actresses involved, and SC itself eagerly awaits delivery of the final cut. Hats off to Tony and the SC girls for a job well done! Stay tuned for a release date.

That 70’s Girl

Currently in production, this erotic spoof of Fox TV’s That 70’s Show finds Julian Wells (The Seduction of Misty Mundae) and gorgeous Kelli Summers (The Lord of G Strings) as Ashleigh and Jennifer, two wealthy, straight-as-an-arrow sisters conned out of their money and in desperate need of a housemate to share the costs of living. What they get from their new Hippy Chick roommate, Petal (Misty Mundae), and her love-slave, Mandy (A.J. Khan/The Erotic Mirror), is a lesson or two, or three, in Free Love…and a whole lot more. Featuring lots of nudity, lesbian activity, vegan cooking, guitar playing, big bushes, and simulated pot smoking! It’ll be a trip, man, so tune in and turn on…

Satan’s Sorority

Writer/director Terry M. West delivers a potent brew of horny young women and Mephistopheles-sponsored higher education. There’ll be no book burnings here; just a hot time for all! Starring Barbara Joyce (The Sexy 6th Sense), Misty Mundae, Ruby LaRocca, and Kelli Summers.

New York Wildcats

A brand new featurette produced specifically to be a VHS and DVD bonus extra on Retro Seduction Cinema’s release of Joseph Sarno’s classic of 70’s erotic cinema, Swedish Wildcats. Starring Katie Jordon (Erotic Witch Project 2), Misty Mundae, Allanah Rhodes (Erotic Survivor 2), Ruby LaRocca, and lots of body paint!

Sisters

Julian Wells along with Misty Mundae and Chelsea Mundae (The Vampire’s Seduction) are LA-bound to star in this new erotic thriller for writer/director Tony Marsiglia. Both Julian and Misty had previously worked with Tony on The Naughty Experiments of Dr. Jekyll and Mistress Hyde this past December, and all three are eagerly looking forward to the reunion and another intense and challenging shoot. Also experiencing a reunion is The Sisters Mundae who had worked together on The Seduction of Misty Mundae late last year. Apparently director Marsiglia wanted real sisters to star in this Lynch-esque feature about two siblings always attempting to outdo one another when it comes to their sexual relationships, and considering his predilection for things dark and disturbing yet intensely erotic, we can only imagine the tantalizing scenarios he has in store for Misty and Chelsea.

Confessions of a Natural Beauty

Misty Mundae has completed production and has entered into post-production on her first writing and directorial effort, Confessions of a Natural Beauty (see Jan/Feb news), starring herself, Darian Caine, and Ruby LaRocca. An autobiographical fantasy/documentary of sorts, Confessions of a Natural Beauty captures the lesbian activities and proclivities of a threesome of au natural beauties, and it is nothing less than sizzling! Says director Mundae, “It was a great experience, and I’m extremely happy with the outcome. It’s pretty much what I envisioned from the get-go. Ruby, Darian, and I were really into it, and into each other, and I think it shows! (laughs) I’m proud that the film will be something I truly believe our fans can look forward to…and I’m also confident they will not be disappointed.” Now that is encouraging news! A release date will be announced soon.

Also from the mind of Misty Mundae comes Lustful Addiction, her sophomore effort currently in production. More info on this title soon!

MM & RL OF SC ON FM IN NY

O n Thursday morning, March 14, Misty Mundae and Ruby LaRocca appeared live on Mega 97.9 FM in New York City on the portion of the popular radio talk show called “Lesbiana.” The girls fielded questions from beautiful hostess Evly, morning team dj’s Luis Jimenez and Moonshadow, and call-in listeners concerning their various Seduction Cinema movies, their working relationship, and their personal lives. The beautiful duo’s candor, smarts, and tongue-in-cheek attitude made for fun, informative, and uninhibited radio. Retro Seduction Cinema is proud to announce its premiere film, Roxanna, in a unique series of Collector’s Edition Double Feature VHS and DVD releases. As reported in Jan/Feb news, Retro Seduction Cinema has acquired several wildly erotic and psychedelic films from the library of 70’s sexploitation auteur Nick Phillips including Pleasures of a Woman, Siv: A Swedish Girl, Le Chic, Fire Under Her Bed, Wendy’s Naughty Night, A Couple of Trouble, and Scyla. These films had played the grindhouse theatrical circuit back in the day, and they had been hugely successful in no small part due to their extremely frank sexual subject matter and their grim and downbeat tone. What makes these Retro SC releases so special? Each original theatrical film has been digitally transferred from a recently discovered 35mm negative, and each one will be partnered with a newly produced, re-envisioned 2002 remake that strives to retain the original’s erotic intensity and trippy demeanor. With Roxanna, the 1970 version features legendary Swedish sex siren Uschi Digart and tells the story of a young woman whose non-stop sexual experimentation careens out of control; the 2002 remake, written and directed by Ted W. Crestview, stars Misty Mundae as the titular character, and it contemporarizes her sexual odyssey and inevitable downfall in a way that pays tribute to the sensibilities of the original film.

Retro SC is excited to make these long-forgotten films of Nick Phillips available again - for the first time on home video! - along with their freshly created remakes. Each VHS and DVD Double Feature will be a true Collector’s Edition release that will undoubtedly satisfy fans who have long sought after these erotic cult classic gems. Keep an eye on these pages for release dates for future Retro SC releases.
